I
have visited both the Phoenix and Mesa
locations. I recently have come into the
store to purchase gift certificates and
have previously purchased nursing bras.
I heard about BESTFed from other nursing
mothers. I would just like to say that
if it was not for my lactation specialist,
I would not have continued trying to nurse.
She made it so relaxing and enjoyable.
My hat goes off to the lactation specialists.

and I am not having anymore problems with
nursing. I am so glad that I saw a Lactation
Consultant early on." |
Visited
Phoenix location on November 27th, 2004.
I came in to see a lactation specialist.
I heard about BESTFed from my hypnobirthing
class. Lori J. Isenstadt, IBCLC was a
guest speaker and told us about the store.
I was having a very hard time nursing
- besides having sore nipples, it seemed
like my baby wasn't latching on properly.
Since I was in the hospital over Thanksgiving,
I had never been shown proper latch on
techniques. Linda Pohl, IBCLC was in the
store that Saturday and was able to show
me how to nurse. She also noticed that
my baby was tongue-tied and that may be
contributing to my difficulties. She suggested
seeing my pediatrician and having my baby's
frenulum clipped. That following Monday,
I was able to see my baby's pediatrician
and he agreed with the lactation consultants
diagnosis of tongue-tied. I was set up
to see an Ear, Nose and throat specialist
that afternoon who proceeded to clip the
frenulum. I nursed my baby immediately
afterward and noticed a big difference.
My nipples were still sore, but it was
definitely more comfortable than even
that morning.
It has now been 4 weeks since my baby
was born and I am not having anymore problems
with nursing. I am so glad that I saw
a Lactation Consultant early on. I may
not have continued nursing my baby if
the diagnosis of tongue-tie had not been
made. I cannot stress enough the importance
of getting help in the beginning stages
of nursing. My baby and I are very grateful.

I
was referred to BESTFed by Lori, as I
was in need of a breastpump. When Lori
returned my call, she was very informative
and she took her time when explaining
different ideas to help me with my problem.
I would recommend every expectant mother
to visit or speak with a BESTFed representative.

I
originally came into the store to rent
a hospital grade electric pump. I needed
breastfeeding advice and a bra. I also
scheduled an appointment for a one on
one lactation consultation. The Staff
at your Phoenix location has always been
very nice and extremely helpful, at a
stressful time. Thank
you. Also Laura was extremely helpful.
To
Lori Isenstadt: a Great big thank you
for your help on breastfeeding.

"She
was so helpful and turned things totally
around. She saved us." |
I
first came into BESTFed for my initial
consult on Friday, August 27, 2004, and
again for a follow-up consult on August
30th, 2004. I needed an emergency lactation
consultation for extremely engorged breasts
and cracked and bloody nipples. I was
referred to BESTFed by Betsy, who is a
Lactation Consultant at Chandler Regional
Hospital.
My baby obviously wasn't latching on correctly
and as a result, my nipples were cracked
and bleeding and extremely sore. I would
almost get physically sick when I knew
it was time to feed her. I kept going
through the pain because I was determined
to breastfeed my baby. Friday night I
was at my wits end and ready to throw
in the towel.
My husband saw my distress and pain and
initiated a page to Betsy from Chandler
Regional. She told us about BESTFed. I
called at 6:50 pm Friday night and spoke
to Linda who said they closed at 7:00
PM. She asked me more about what was going
on, at which point I burst into tears
and she kindly offered to stay late to
see my husband - myself and baby.
We were with her for about 2 1/2 hours.
She was so helpful and turned things totally
around. She saved us. I can't say how
appreciative we are for her and with the
services your store provides. I will definitely
refer people to you and also continue
to utilize your services.
Thank you so much for making nursing the
wonderful experience it was meant to be!
Many, many thanks,
Suzanne Kiefer

| "Breastfeeding
success was increased." |
I
visited the Phoenix store shortly after
the birth of my daughter. I was referred
to you by Good Samaritan Hospital. I came
home from the hospital with a pump that
I rented from the hospital, which did
not work. I called BESTFed and they offered
to look at it and help, but I was recovering
from a Cesarean Section and I could not
come to the store. My nephew brought the
pump to the store. They said the parts
were not put together correctly and proceeded
to put the parts on correctly. They sent
the pump back home with my nephew and
I could then use the pump. I also came
into the store for a Lactation Consult.
I finally learned how to position the
baby correctly and comfortably. Breastfeeding
success was increased. I was also shown
how to properly clean the pump parts.
I went home and cleaned the pump parts
at home, with subsequent improved suction
and pumping.
